🧪Viscosity & pH Application Order

How to Layer These Actives in Your Routine

Step 01Viscosity Tier 3

Benzoyl Peroxide

Apply first to clean, dry skin. Operates at pH 4.5–6.

⏱️Wait 2 Minutes

Allows cutaneous acid mantle to equilibrate before the next step.

Step 02Viscosity Tier 3

Adapalene

Layer over the initial active. Operates at pH 5–6.5.

Biochemical Mechanism & Pharmacology

Unlike classic tretinoin and retinol, Adapalene is a synthetic third-generation naphthoic acid retinoid with superior photostability and chemical inertness. It does not degrade in the presence of Benzoyl Peroxide. In fact, their combination is an FDA-approved clinical gold standard for acne, providing simultaneous follicular comedolysis and bacterial eradication.

Cutaneous pH Stability Note:

Both actives operate comfortably in the pH 5.0–6.5 range. Can be layered in the evening or used in a fixed-dose combination.
